A practical Pratishtha checklist

A Pratishtha is unlike any other event production. The day matters, but so does what surrounds it — the welcome of family elders, the dignity of the seating, the discipline of the procession.

Six months out

• Confirm the principal day with the family acharya.
• Lock down the venue, including any neighbouring grounds for prasad / dining.
• Begin scoping the staging — central deity area, dignitary seating, public viewing.

Three months out

• Lock the lighting plan. Religious events are lit very differently from weddings — warmer, more even, less drama.
• Confirm public-address coverage zones (the audio for an outdoor Pratishtha is far more demanding than people expect).

One month out

• Run a full on-ground rehearsal with the trust leadership, the production team, and the priest team together.
